Two New State and County Tools Highlight the Importance of Title X-Funded Family Planning Services

INFOGRAPHICS: IMPACT OF TITLE X IN EACH STATE
Last month, the Institute published new research showing the impact of Title X-funded services. Title X-supported family planning clinics alone served 4.6 million clients in 2013, helping women avoid one million unintended pregnancies, 501,000 unplanned births and 345,000 abortions. Without the contraceptive services provided at these clinics, levels of unintended pregnancy and teen pregnancy would be 30% higher.

Individual graphics are now available for all 50 states and the District of Columbia showing the services provided in each state, and the impact those services have. Click here to find the graphic for your state.

ONLINE TABLEMAKER: NEED FOR PUBLICLY FUNDED CONTRACEPTIVE SERVICES IN EACH COUNTY
The Guttmacher Institute’s online county Tablemaker allows users to create customized tables with data on contraceptive needs and services in a county or groups of counties. The Tablemaker has been updated to include data for 2013 on:

  • The number of women in need of publicly funded contraceptive services; and
  • The number and percent of women in need who are uninsured.
