Lauren Carmin, Senior Communications Associate

Lauren Carmin promotes Guttmacher evidence, publications and spokespeople through social media outreach and online marketing, and coordinates the Institute's presence at conferences and meetings worldwide. She is also the main contact for general information requests from the public. In addition, Lauren manages media outreach for the Institute's peer-reviewed journal, International Perspectives on Sexual and Reproductive Health. Lauren joined the Institute in October 2007 as the Communications Assistant, a position that entailed managing the Institute’s inventory of publications and periodicals, and coordinating electronic and hard copy dissemination of all Guttmacher materials. She was promoted to Communications Associate in July 2010. Previously, Lauren worked at Deutsch Communications Group, where she helped design cause marketing and public relations campaigns for nonprofit groups. Lauren has a B.A. from The College of New Jersey, where she majored in communication studies and minored in professional writing.
