Position Summary:

The Talent Acquisition Specialist supports all areas of recruitment and carries out responsibilities that include posting job openings, sourcing candidates, track candidates/resumes, set up interviews, implement recruiting strategies, develops job descriptions, conduct background checks and references. 




  • Regularly partners with hiring managers and other appropriate managers to anticipate and plan for staffing needs in advance of required start date.
  • Develops, facilitates, and implements all phases of the recruitment process
  • Provide Weekly vacancy reports and updates on open positions. 
  • Responsible for the on-boarding of new employees and off-boarding of employees and conduct exit interviews as necessary.
  • Conduct new employee quarterly satisfaction surveys in the first year of employment. 
  • Search, screen and identify top-quality qualified candidates, ensure compliance with pre-employment screening processes and qualifications for all hires.
  • Lead recruitment efforts that include posting all jobs internally and on web-based job boards, social media and other posting outlets. 
  • Collaborates with the hiring manager and/or other human resource staff during the offer process, identifying and recommending salary ranges, incentives, and start dates
  • Oversees preparation of interview questions and other hiring and selection materials.
  • Develops and maintains relationships with colleges, agencies, and other sources of high-quality candidates.
  • Manages internet recruiting accounts, pre-employment testing services, and new hire processes. 
  • Analyze HRIS reports that track employment statistics such as vacancy, turnover, time-to-fill reporting.
  • Recommends improvements for employee retention.
  • Ensures EEO compliance with recruiting activities. 
  • Interviews or screens applicants to evaluate applicant interest, background, experience, and personal qualifications for the position. 
  • Schedules and conducts interviews with candidates. 
  • Performs reference checks on all potential candidates prior to job offer.
  • Conducts background checks, education verification, social media checks after offer of employment is made.
  • Responds in writing to all applicants including declined candidates, prepares offer letters, and maintains applicant records.
  • Assists in the preparation and coordination of new employee orientation
  • Assume additional responsibilities as assigned by the Director of Human Resources and VP of Finance and Adminsitration. 

Qualifications and Skills:

  • Five years related experience, or equivalent combination of education and experience; work experience will be strongly considered.
  • Experience recruiting and staffing in the non-profit sector.
  • Ability to create and implement sourcing strategies for recruitment for a variety of roles.
  • Working knowledge of HR laws and regulations specifically including equal employment opportunity.
  • Demonstrated capacity to communicate effectively including strong verbal and written communications skills; customer service oriented, with ability to engage professionally with diverse staff and external stakeholders.
  • Optimistic attitude that thrives in a dynamic and complex working environment.
  • Ability to participate as a team member and work independently, with limited supervision; willingness to take full responsibility of own work actions.
  • Versatility, flexibility, and a willingness to work within constantly changing priorities with enthusiasm.
  • Strong organizational skills and ability to prioritize effectively under pressure.
  • Knowledge of MS Office and HRIS systems.  Experience in data entry and database systems a plus.


Salary and benefits
