
As Senior Development Associate, Elena Garofalo supports the procurement of funds from private foundations, government agencies and other institutional donors and assists in the implementation of the Institute’s fundraising strategy. Prior to joining the Institute in March 2017, Ms. Garofalo was a Development Officer at the Women’s Refugee Commission, where she played a leading role in the organization’s business development and grant operations. She was also Program Director at the National Committee on American Foreign Policy, where she led the coordination of diplomatic discussions and the development of the organization’s public education programs. Ms. Garofalo graduated with a BA in international relations and Italian from Mount Holyoke College, and an MPA from New York University’s Robert F. Wagner Graduate School of Public Service.
