
Sheila Desai joined the Guttmacher Institute in 2015. Her current work focuses on abortion and adolescent sexual health in the United States. Prior to joining Guttmacher, Ms. Desai worked with Advancing New Standards in Reproductive Health at the University of California, San Francisco, where her work focused on expanding access to abortion care in California. She has coauthored articles in the American Journal of Public Health, Obstetrics & Gynecology and Women’s Health Issues, among others. Ms. Desai received her MPH from the Johns Hopkins Bloomberg School of Public Health and is currently pursuing a DrPH from the CUNY School of Public Health, where her research focuses on advancing reproductive justice in Asian-American communities.
