On June 5, the Guttmacher-Lancet Commission on Sexual and Reproductive Health and Rights co-organized a panel at the European Development Days in Brussels, Belgium, with Deutsche Stiftung Weltbevölkerung (DSW), a global development and advocacy organization; International Planned Parenthood Federation’s European Network (IPPF EN); the United Nations Population Fund’s European office (UNFPA); Women Deliver; and Countdown 2030 Europe, a consortium of reproductive health–focused nongovernmental organizations. The event was moderated by BBC journalist Zuhura Yunus, and consisted of a plenary featuring Commissioner Dr. Awa Coll-Seck, Minister of State for Senegal; Neven Mimica, Commissioner for International Cooperation and Development, European Commission; and Catarina Furtado, UNFPA Goodwill Ambassador. Following the plenary presentations, Ms. Yunus moderated a discussion of the report among a panel featuring Dr. Coll-Seck; Jens Frolich Holte, State Secretary of Norway; Vlado Mirosevic Verdugo, member of parliament from Chile; Hope Jeremiah Offor, Women Deliver Young Leader from Nigeria; and Renate Baehr, Executive Director of DSW.
