Contraception

Everyone deserves equitable and comprehensive access to the contraceptive method of their choice without barriers, stigma or shame. The Guttmacher Institute conducts research and policy analysis on contraceptive use and access, including highlighting the need for public investment in high-quality, affordable and accessible contraceptive services.

For an individual to exercise their full reproductive autonomy, they must have access to comprehensive sexual and reproductive health care services. But cost often poses a challenging—if not insurmountable—barrier to accessing care.
