The Guttmacher Institute’s work in India has focused on adolescents’ reproductive health needs, including documenting trends in early childbearing and marriage and identifying barriers to safe motherhood for women of all ages. The Institute has also documented what is known about the incidence of abortion and unintended pregnancy and the availability of abortion services; the consequences of unsafe abortion; and the barriers to obtaining safe abortion and postabortion services.
Ensuring universal access to sexual and reproductive health services in Asia is an attainable goal. In fact, every woman in Asia could receive an essential package of care if just $14 were invested per woman per year.
Your support enables the Guttmacher Institute to advance sexual and reproductive health and rights in the United States and worldwide through our interrelated program of research, public education and policy analysis.
