Teenage Sexual And Reproductive Behavior In Developed Countries: Can More Progress Be Made?

There is strong consensus in the United States that teenage pregnancy and birth levels are too high. Despite dramatic decreases in teenage pregnancy rates and birthrates in the United States over the past decade, this country still has substantially higher levels of adolescent pregnancy, childbearing and abortion than in other Western industrialized countries. Moreover, teenage birthrates have declined less steeply in the United States than in other developed countries over the last three decades.
