If you’re 70½ or older, you can make a qualified charitable distribution (QCD) directly from your IRA to the Guttmacher Institute. A QCD counts toward your required minimum distribution and is excluded from your taxable income—making it one of the most tax-efficient ways to support our work.
How it works:
Contact your IRA custodian and request a qualified charitable distribution, or direct transfer, made payable to the Guttmacher Institute.
Provide our EIN (13-2890727) and mailing address (125 Maiden Lane, 7th Floor, New York, NY 10038).
Ask your custodian to include your name so we can properly acknowledge your gift, or notify us directly once the transfer is initiated.
Contribution limits and eligibility rules are set by the IRS and may change from year to year. We recommend consulting your financial advisor to confirm your QCD is structured correctly.
