Guttmacher celebrates partnership at ICFP2025

Guttmacher Institute and partners highlight the importance of collaboration at ICFP 2025 to advance global sexual and reproductive health and rights, showcasing joint research, advocacy tools, and partnerships driving progress worldwide.

Video

Transcript:

Julia Loewenberg: Every two years, the global sexual and reproductive health and rights community comes together to chart a path forward. The International Conference on Family Planning brings together thousands of researchers, policymakers and advocates from around the world.

Jonathan Wittenberg: One of the reasons it's really important for Guttmacher to be at ICFP and one of the real privileges, is the chance to connect with our partners. Guttmacher partners with researchers, advocates, ministries of health, all over the world and this has been an amazing opportunity to be in community with them. Like our partners here in Colombia, Oriéntame, who we've been working with for decades to build the evidence base here in Colombia and it's been a great opportunity to sit face-to-face with them, be in sessions with them, talk really tactically about the work we're doing together right now and also hear about their priorities so we can learn about how Guttmacher can best be of service to them.

Julia Loewenberg: We're proud to collaborate with partners driving SRHR progress worldwide. At ICFP, we had the opportunity to highlight some of our recent joint work and shared achievements.

Peace Umanah: So I think it's important for us as IYAFP to showcase our Safe Abortion Advocacy Toolkit at ICFP because it contains evidence-driven data by the Guttmacher Institute, which informs young people's decisions and young people's advocacy messages.

Doris N. Omao: My highlight for working with the Guttmacher Institute, honestly, was the collaboration, the power of collaboration. The fact that we were able to have Dr. Maggie Giorgio as our core principle investigator was quite a plus for us because she brings in a lot of experience.

Julia Loewenberg: ICFP 2025 made it clear that advancing sexual and reproductive health and rights globally will require everyone, researchers, advocates, policymakers and funders, to work together. By uniting our efforts, we can drive real progress towards ensuring that every person everywhere has the power to make informed choices about their bodies and their futures.
