Transcript: The proportion of patients traveling out of state for care has doubled in recent years, reaching nearly one in five and as you can imagine, the sharpest increases are in states that border abortion ban states: Kansas, Colorado, New Mexico and, of course, here in Illinois. In fact, no state has been able to receive and see as many out-of-state abortion patients from as many states as Illinois does. And that's not an accident. That is because of real policy wins here in Illinois and in some of these other states that I mentioned that have helped make a tangible difference in people's lives. And the commonality of some of these states is that they didn't shy away from the moment. These state leaders, legislators, activists, advocates, many of you saw that people are looking for champions. They're looking for leaders to understand the centrality that abortion plays in our lives and act and legislate accordingly. I am hopeful when I see some of these state policies not just protecting legality, but expanding access.
