Anna Bernstein joined the Guttmacher Institute in 2024. She leads work on domestic abortion access policy at the federal level, including advocacy and analysis to ensure that policies are grounded in evidence. Prior to joining Guttmacher, she served as Deputy Director of Health Equity at The Century Foundation, leading a portfolio of reproductive and maternal health issues. Ms. Bernstein has previously held positions at the Institute for Women’s Policy Research, Planned Parenthood Global and Advancing New Standards in Reproductive Health. She received her MPH from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill and her BA from Tufts University. Ms. Bernstein volunteers as a case manager for the DC Abortion Fund.
