HIGHLIGHTS as of June 1, 2015

In May, two states enacted laws related to requiring a woman wait a specific amount of time before she can obtain an abortion. Oklahoma extended its waiting period from 24 to 72 hours, and Tennessee enacted a new waiting period of 48 hours. The new Tennessee law also mandates that a woman obtain abortion counseling at the clinic before the waiting period starts, necessitating her to make two trips to the clinic.
