The Guttmacher Institute and APHRC have worked together for more than a decade on a wide range of projects, beginning with a major multicountry study on adolescents’ need for prevention of HIV/AIDS and unintended pregnancy in Sub-Saharan Africa. From 2016 to 2018, researchers at APHRC provided research support to the Guttmacher-Lancet Commission, an international collaboration that brought together 16 multidisciplinary experts from Africa, Asia, Europe, the Middle East, and North and South America to develop a new global agenda for sexual and reproductive health and rights.
