Senior Research Scientist

Alicia VandeVusse

Portrait of Alicia VandeVusse

Alicia VandeVusse joined the Guttmacher Institute as a Senior Research Scientist in 2018. She is an expert in qualitative research methods, and leads projects that investigate the impact of changing policy landscapes on the experiences of patients and providers at family planning clinics. Her past research has focused on the childbearing, family planning and sexual health needs of LGBT people. Dr. VandeVusse earned her BA in economics from Smith College and her MA and PhD in sociology from the University of Chicago. Prior to joining the Guttmacher Institute, she was a Senior Researcher at the Center for Interdisciplinary Inquiry and Innovation in Sexual and Reproductive Health at the University of Chicago, where she worked on LGBT and adolescent health projects, including initiatives aimed at improving health care service delivery and HIV prevention.
