Fatima Juárez

Fatima Juárez is a professor at the Center for Demographic, Urban, and Environmental Studies at El Colegio de México in Mexico City, specializing in the field of reproductive health in less developed countries. She has served as chair of the Scientific Committee on Adolescent Life Course in Developing Countries for the International Union for the Scientific Study of Population and is a member of several editorial boards, including for the journal Demographic Studies and Urban Planning. Dr. Juárez is currently a member of the Advisory Board on the Population Policies of the National Council of Population of Mexico (Consejo Consultivo Ciudadano de la Política de Población de CONAPO). She has collaborated with Guttmacher for many years, and has been a Senior Fellow at the Institute since 2007. In addition, she is a former Senior Lecturer and Researcher at the London School of Hygiene and Tropical Medicine, and a former Senior Population Affairs Officer and Project Director at the United Nations Population Division. Dr. Juárez is the author or coauthor of more than 100 publications, books, journals and scientific publications.
