Abortion demand increased just before Roe v. Wade was overturned

Rachel Jones, Principal Research Scientist at Guttmacher, says, “Abortions in the US rose 8% between 2017 and 2020. That means the need for abortion increased just before abortion access plummeted due to the Supreme Court decision overturning Roe v. Wade.” The Supreme Court ruling that Jones refers to is Dobbs v. Jackson Women’s Health Organization, which was decided in June 2022.
