Everyone deserves equitable and comprehensive access to the contraceptive method of their choice without barriers, stigma or shame. The Guttmacher Institute conducts research and policy analysis on contraceptive use and access, including highlighting the need for public investment in high-quality, affordable and accessible contraceptive services.  


Policies that prioritize the people who have experienced the most obstacles to accessing contraceptive care have the greatest likelihood of closing the gap between how people want to obtain contraception and how they actually get it.
