
Vinita Jethwani joined the Guttmacher Institute in 2007. As the Director of Research Administration, she has primary responsibility for the administrative functioning of the Research Division, including project management and budgeting, allocation of division staffing and resources, administrative aspects of personnel management, government grant proposal submission and reporting, regulatory reporting and contracts. She also monitors and coordinates institutional review board compliance for all domestic and international research projects within the Institute. Over the past 15 years, Ms. Jethwani has been actively involved in the implementation and management of large research projects. She has worked with grants and project officers in multiple federal agencies, including the National Institutes of Health, the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, the Department of Health and Human Services’ Office of Population Affairs, the Department of Justice and the Social Security Administration. Prior to joining the Institute, she worked as a Research Analyst at Mathematica Policy Research in Princeton, NJ, conducting research and evaluation of federally funded programs. She also worked as a Project Manager for the Violence Against Women program at the International Association of Chiefs of Police in Alexandria, VA. Ms. Jethwani received her MA from the Hubert H. Humphrey Institute of Public Affairs, University of Minnesota, with a concentration in women and public policy, and her BA in history from Douglass College at Rutgers University.
Ms. Jethwani also serves as director of the Administrative Core of the National Institutes of Health–funded Guttmacher Center for Population Research Innovation and Dissemination.
